3ware Escalade SATA hardware RAID controllers for high capacity and exceptional value

When the challenge is to increase storage capacity while controlling costs, one Serial ATA (SATA) RAID controller family gives IT professionals what they need to accomplish both goals - Escalade® 8000 Series RAID controllers from 3ware. With the ability to support up to 4 controllers per system, the Escalade 8000 Series can scale capacity to over 12 TB (250 GB x 12 port x 4 controllers/system).

3ware combines an advanced non-blocking switched fabric architecture StorSwitch™, with SATA drives to deliver a highly scalable hardware RAID storage solution. Each controller boasts a PCI 66MHz custom ASIC that combines an integrated RISC processor, PCI bridge (64-bit, 66MHz) and XOR RAID engine. The Escalade 8506 offers the most popular Serial ATA RAID 5 as well as Levels 0,1,10 and JBOD.

Integrated Solutions:
In large-scale configurations, 3ware offers even higher levels of reliability with its highly integrated multi-lane controllers, the Escalade 8506-8MI and 8506-12MI. The more connections, the greater the probability of having a single point of failure in the box; reducing a 12 port controller to three connections is a far more reliable solution. The integrated connector (based on Infiniband specification SFF-8470) has a secure locking mechanism to ensure very robust connections suitable for industrial environments.
